First stop, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Art, touted to be one of the nicest in Taiwan. Much to my chagrin, it is once again mostly on contemporary/modern art, which i seriously cannot appreciate. Bahh..but it's a pretty nice, classy place to hang out, especially the basement which houses a big children's reading room which itself, is pretty much a work of art. No photos were allowed inside the art galleries, so here's the only one I have..
We then left Taichung and headed toward Puli. Puli is a town located in a pristine mountain area and is famous for its four 'W's - water, wine, women and weather. Mr Liao, our very helpful driver, bought each of us a bottle of the famous local spring water. Of course, I drank loads, as it's known to give fine skin complexion. =) Sweet and pure water also equates to good wine, so we visited the the Shaoxing Wine Factory. In there is a small wine museum featuring wine products and some info on the aftermath of the 921 earthquake.
What caught my attention, however, was the food hall in level 1.=) Tried a little here and there. Foods worth mentioning are the EGG ROLLS and the shaoxing taiwan sausage (located opposite the brewery).
Shaoxing taiwan sausageAfter snacking, it was time for more snacking,so we headed towards Feeling 18 Chocolate specialty shop. Apparently, it's all the rage among food obsessed Taiwanese now and the queue is frightening long during the weekends. But we have good karma...ahem.

my thoughts on it: It was, it was..todiefor. As in seriously to die for. Esp the macadamia nut chocolate. heavenly....
After all the snacking, time for lunch!
Noodles Soup with a fresh pork slice. Refreshing and light after all that snacking.
Time to climb up the mountain..in a car, that is. Halfway up...
And finally, Cingjing Veterans Farm.. Fresh air, green scenic grassland..!
After Cingjing, on our way to Lushan...Soil erosion?? Quite massive eh? Anyway, Lushan is one of the four famous hot spring in Taiwan. A nice, ideal place to relax after a long day. During the last earthquake, some of the hotels fell into the river. Hmmz........
Our hotel for the night..Ying-Su Hotel in Lushan. The big deal were the tubs- a large soaking tub that has hot springs water piped in and a smaller soaking tub for cold water. Mum and dad happily soaked away in their room while we played around in ours and scrubbed each other's backs. Some people ar, have really blardy boxim boomz. Sigh.......
For dinner, we went to eat 山菜, which dear mum is a fan of. My first time, not too bad..
...as you can see from my expression.
Jalan jalan around Lushan...
