I am feeling down.

Went for an interview at a tuition center this morning at 10am.
Start of foul day.

Waited for a cab for at least 1/2 hr.
X, Y and Z HAPPILY grabbed my cab
by standing 5m in front of me
AM I INVISIBLE?

Interview time.
Failed the two classroom management qns.
4/10
=(
After AN HOUR of ding ding dong dong.
qualifications, experience, conditions..
proceeded to discuss about pay
Not what I'm looking for.
etc etc..
In conclusion,
Cost>benefits

So buy 4d.
Never win.
Blah.

Tuition time.
Having taught the same type of question for at least 5 times the past 1 yr.
Tutee still cannot do it.
1 more day to exam.
my patience wears really thin.
doubting myself
I am not an effective tutor?

Was feeling hungry and tired earlier this evening.
But there was no time for dinner.
So bought a pack of roti cake
And devoured 3 pieces

A week ago. I swore off bread-savoury and sweet
They are so high in calories and all empty calories.
And I always binge on bread.
Ffffffffff..
Really need to find alternatives
muesli bars?

Day 1: Kim Jong Il prepared supper.

In a final attempt to lead a healthy lifestyle, I'm going to keep track of what I eat. I really think it will be a good way to remind myself what's good and bad for health. =)

Day 1: Woke up too late to have lunch and it wasn't until 6pm before i had the time for a meal. I have the digusting habit of skipping breakfast and lunch and eating the first meal only at 10pm and hell..eat 3 meals worth of food in one go.

My attempt not to eat supper failed. KJI prepared supper (too rare an event to miss). Eddie came over while we were eating and while chit-chatting, I think i might have snacked a little too much on the anchovies.
Breakfast:-
Lunch: -
Snack: Instant Coffee (50 cal)
Dinner 6pm: Yong Tau Foo
Supper 1am: Plain porridge with diced ham, kimchi, korean sweet anchovy

Money, money..

I woke up this morning feeling awfully irritated.
Enough is enough, I thought, and so I made a vow to stop taking the cab.

An hour later,
running late for my dental appointment
I helplessly flagged for a cab.
Argh.

Reminder to self:
Taxi equates to empty pocket

Saizeriya

I was craving for risotto and dragged Kim Jong Il to Saizeriya with me. Knew it would mostly be msg-laden food, but that day, it felt like comfort food to me.

We are really pigs and had a foccacia, oven baked escargots, spinach with bacon as appetizers. For the main course, KJI had the grilled chicken with vegetable sauce while I had the mushroom and bacon risotto.

Total bill came up to SG$27. So affordable. =)

Et pour le gateau..je l'ai achete de Canele..notre coup de coeur en ce moment. C'etait delicieux, vachement bien.. surtout les noisettes..!

Friday, September 10, 2010

and then it was all over..

baloons Pictures, Images and Photos

Time is like the wind
That comes in the morning
With a barely palpable caress of the cheek
Rising to a comfortable caress
In its measured passage of the day
Until it rises a sudden gale
Revealing the irrevocability of its power
Trembling our browning leaves
And blowing them to our finality.

Window on the Park @ Holiday Inn

Miss Jane and I tried the buffet at Window on the Park @ Holiday Inn today, tempted by the 1-for 1 deal promotion. Worked out to SG$30/pp which was rather value for money.

Taichung Day 1

First stop, National Taiwan Museum of Fine Art, touted to be one of the nicest in Taiwan. Much to my chagrin, it is once again mostly on contemporary/modern art, which i seriously cannot appreciate. Bahh..but it's a pretty nice, classy place to hang out, especially the basement which houses a big children's reading room which itself, is pretty much a work of art. No photos were allowed inside the art galleries, so here's the only one I have..
Photobucket

We then left Taichung and headed toward Puli. Puli is a town located in a pristine mountain area and is famous for its four 'W's - water, wine, women and weather. Mr Liao, our very helpful driver, bought each of us a bottle of the famous local spring water. Of course, I drank loads, as it's known to give fine skin complexion. =) Sweet and pure water also equates to good wine, so we visited the the Shaoxing Wine Factory. In there is a small wine museum featuring wine products and some info on the aftermath of the 921 earthquake.
Photobucket

What caught my attention, however, was the food hall in level 1.=) Tried a little here and there. Foods worth mentioning are the EGG ROLLS and the shaoxing taiwan sausage (located opposite the brewery).

After snacking, it was time for more snacking,so we headed towards Feeling 18 Chocolate specialty shop. Apparently, it's all the rage among food obsessed Taiwanese now and the queue is frightening long during the weekends. But we have good karma...ahem.

Feeling 18 Chocolate

Feeling 18 Ice cream
my thoughts on it: It was, it was..todiefor. As in seriously to die for. Esp the macadamia nut chocolate. heavenly....
PhotobucketPhotobucket

After all the snacking, time for lunch!
Photobucket
Noodles Soup with a fresh pork slice. Refreshing and light after all that snacking.
Photobucket

Time to climb up the mountain..in a car, that is. Halfway up...
Photobucket

And finally, Cingjing Veterans Farm.. Fresh air, green scenic grassland..!

After Cingjing, on our way to Lushan...Soil erosion?? Quite massive eh? Anyway, Lushan is one of the four famous hot spring in Taiwan. A nice, ideal place to relax after a long day. During the last earthquake, some of the hotels fell into the river. Hmmz........
PhotobucketPhotobucket

Our hotel for the night..Ying-Su Hotel in Lushan. The big deal were the tubs- a large soaking tub that has hot springs water piped in and a smaller soaking tub for cold water. Mum and dad happily soaked away in their room while we played around in ours and scrubbed each other's backs. Some people ar, have really blardy boxim boomz. Sigh.......
PhotobucketPhotobucket

For dinner, we went to eat 山菜, which dear mum is a fan of. My first time, not too bad..
